About Common Service Centre (CSC)


A Common Service Centre (CSC) is the physical front-end for delivery of Government, Private and Social Sector services to the rural citizens of India at their doorstep.

The CSC Scheme is envisaged to be a bottom-up model for delivery of content, services, information and knowledge, that can allow like–minded public and private enterprises – through a collaborative framework – to integrate their goals of profit as well as social objectives, into a sustainable business model for achieving rapid socio–economic change in rural India.

Common Service Center (CSC) Project in Manipur

Under the implementation of National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), 399 Common Service Centers (CSCs) have been setup in Manipur to geographically cover six villages for each CSC. The CSCs have been positioned as a One-Stop Shop for delivery of Business to Citizen (B2C) and Government to Citizen (G2C) Services to the rural citizens of the state.

Infrastructures like Solar Power Plants and VSAT Internet Connectivity are being provided by the Government to the Common Service Centres (CSC) to ensure full functionality of the CSCs in the state.

The following agencies are the key stakeholders in the implementation, making operational and monitoring of the CSCs and CSC Project in Manipur.

1.State Designated Agency (SDA):- Manipur State Information Technology Society.

 2.Service Centre Agency (SCA):- M/s Zoom Developers (P) Ltd

  For effective implementation and monitoring of the CSC project at the district level, District e-Governance     Society (DeGS) and CSC-Special Teams have been formed in each district.
